My boyfriend just bought a little drone and has been practicing flying it nonstop at home. The wind in SLO county finally calmed down enough for us to fly it outside for the first time at Laguna Lake. I didn't know how I felt about the drone at first but it has grown on me. I want to name it Buzz Lightyear but he won't let me haha. While he practiced his aviation, I photographed some accessories I recently bought.
I believe it is important to be aware of shopping sustainably and being thoughtful of who you are giving your money to. H&M has recently started taking steps toward sustainability by offering discounts for dropping off old clothing to be recycled and focusing on using renewable energy in stores, using recycled cotton/polyester , etc. See the numbers for yourself in their sustainability report HERE. They are still a major fast fashion company but leading the way in the right direction. I shop sustainably enough to feel comfortable buying from fast fashion brands once in awhile and I really couldn't resist this quirky bat inspired backpack with puff keychain and the most adorable fang front pocket detail!
I also scored a pair of jaguar earrings from one of my favorite consignment shops, Change of a Dress in downtown SLO. In fact the western inspired button up I am wearing is also from the store! While I was browsing the racks an owner, Diana Gabriel, was having a buying appointment with a girl and while she was surveying her items they chit-chatted and laughed about life. It was a nice reminder of why shopping locally is so important. You get to know exactly who you are supporting with your purchases. Shopping consciously is good for the community and the planet.
